Our oak restoration services have your old wood looking amazing whether you need black marks or water and tannin stains removed to give the board a clean, uniform finish, or want to enhance the grain to give an aged appearance.
You’ll be amazed by just how much properly restored oak can transform the look of your home. (And of course, if you’re lucky enough to live in a period property, you’ll want the floor to do it justice.) We’ll pay keen attention to detail every step of the way, bringing our passion for the natural beauty of real wood to your project, from initial consultation through to aftercare of your floor.
Your floor will be meticulously finished by hand, making it the focal point for your home, adding to its value and, if it is a period property, its sense of history as well. What’s more, we’re very sensitive to the need to have flooring in sympathy with the rest of the house.
To start off with, we’ll take off the finish your floor currently has, whether that’s paint or carpet or varnish, layer by layer, before sanding it. Next we’ll use wax, lacquer or staining, to bring out the timber’s character and colours. We’re always keen to keep the years of natural patina the wood has developed.
Should we need to refit your floor, we’ll do it board by board, repairing rather than replacing boards where we can.
